Hearing on three defense motions in Ray Christie's case continued because Judge Canning is disqualified

Three defense motions were scheduled in Ray Christie's case on July 16. They were continued to August 3, the same day that trial setting is set.

Judge Timothy Canning was calling the 8:45 calendar and he is disqualified from the case.

As I reported previously, one is a supplemental motion to clarify a discovery motion. The  motion to dismiss has to do with double jeopardy. There is another motion to unseal Exhibit 3 of the jury note.

Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward had taken over the case. Today, Deputy DA David Moutrie appeared for the People. He had assisted former Deputy DA Adrian Kamada on Christie's first jury trial.

Mr. John Cogorno and Mr. Ken Bareilles are Christie's attorneys. Mr. Cogorno appeared on the case.
