DA did not offer a misdemeanor in the Jeff Tsarnas case, deputy da assigned to case responds to defense claim

Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor on the Jeff Tsarnas hit and run case. He just sent me this clarification.

"John, I wanted to let you know that I couldn’t appear on Tsarnas because I was appearing in Court 5 for Janeen Jackson.

Unfortunately, Ms. Van Dyke put on the record that the People had previously offered a misdemeanor to resolve the case. I wanted to let you know that I have never offered a misdemeanor, but have instead only offered the felony hit and run that he is currently charged with."
