Ongoing discussions including settlement in "Stayn"'s vandalism case

Preliminary hearing for Nicholas Hedrick aka "Stayn" was scheduled for this morning. He is charged with one count of vandalism with damages totaling $3,875.

Mr. Patrik Griego is Hedrick's attorney. Mr. William Stein who was attorney of record previously will be returning to the Janssen Malloy Firm as an associate.

At defense request, the preliminary hearing was continued to August 3. Hedrick wants to be personally present in Court. Mr. Griego appeared on his behalf since there is a 977 waiver of personal appearance on file.

Deputy District Attorney Tobias Hasler is the prosecutor for this case. He said he couldn't object, "given that time is waived and the defendant is out of custody."

Mr. Hasler told Judge Kaleb Cockrum, "there are ongoing discussions regarding options. We are in settlement discussions."
