SB 10 and a decision by Judge Watson could result in the release of a convicted child molestor, who was arrested in Humboldt on similar charges

Ruling by Judge Christopher Wilson on the motion to reduce bail/adjust bail for alleged molestor Michael Franco was scheduled this morning.

Judge Wilson said there was a reference to SB 10 in pleadings by the defense. "I think this is the kind of case that even under SB 10, no bail would be set. I think Mr. Franco falls in that category."

"I am reluctant to reconsider the decision by Judge Watson to set bail."

The case is now scheduled on January 30 in front of Retired Judge Bruce Watson.

Bail is currently set at 2.8 million. People requested an increase to 4 million, 50,000.
