19 year old shot in Orland Square Mall

Multiple agencies including police and fire responded to a shooting at Orland Square Mall in Orland Park, Illinois. The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. (local time)

Orland Park police said a 19-year-old man was shot in the chest outside the H&M store.  The victim staggered to.the food court in the mall. He taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The shooter is not in custody. Police are unsure if the shooter is still in the mall. Around 8 p.m. (local time) police said the shooter is not in the mall

Later, the police confirmed the victim had succumbed to his injuries. Video showed the suspect leaving the mall on foot. The shooter is black male, 6 ft. 1 in. tall, wearing black clothing and blue jeans.

Police said they believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that the shooter and the victim knew each other.

Another man, not known to either the victim or the suspect, had a graze wound to the leg and transported himself to the hospital.

Some reports say the victim's age was 20. The bystander's age is being reported as 18 or 19 years old as well as 19 or 20 years old.
