"Hopefully, the case goes today; I have been waiting for a year and a half" is what Cory Fisher says to me before court officially starts

Trial confirmation was continued to January 29 for former correctional deputy Cory Fisher. Jury trial  scheduled for February 1 was vacated and reset for February 25. Motions in limine and review of hardship questionnaires will start on February 21. Trial estimate is 8 weeks.

Defense and People stipulated to a short two week continuance. The People finally received the defense report.
They are supposed to receive it 30 days before jury trial. The two week continuance is a compromise by both parties to stay on track.

No other media was in court.

Fisher started talking to me before his case was called; we were waiting for attorneys and Judge Timothy Canning.

"Hopefully, the case goes today; I have been waiting for a year and a half. As long as there are no bumps in the road again." Prisoners are not supposed to communicate with anyone. I obviously did not respond.

Charges for Fisher include alleged molestation of his stepsons and son as well as alleged forcible oral copulation and unlawful touching of intimate part of Humboldt County inmates.

The case is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads. Fisher is represented by Deputy Conflict Counsel David Lee.
