Fernando Joel Calderon arrested for multiple felony warrants; ineligible for bail

On January 25th, 2019, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, served an arrest warrant at a residence located in the 4200 block of Mitchell Road, Eureka.

Officers learned that Fernando Joel Calderon (age 36) was staying at this location and a Steagald Warrant was obtained for his arrest.  Calderon is wanted on several felony warrants and is suspected of leading local law enforcement agencies on multiple high-speed vehicle pursuits over the course of several weeks.

Upon arrival, officers surrounded the residence and ordered Calderon to surrender.  After a brief standoff, Calderon exited the residence and was taken into custody.  Calderon was subsequently transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked.  Calderon is ineligible for bail due to Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) violations.
