Word on the street is that Steve Thrap was put on admin leave after the EHS vs SB game for alleged comments he made

St. Bernard’s boys basketball head coach Steve Thrap and his staff were placed on administrative leave.

Word on the street is that Thrap was put on admin leave because at the EHS vs SB game on Monday,  he was on court "talking shit about the EHS players to his players." I am not printing the derogatory term he used. It was heard by a board member who reported it.



Thrap had not been told the source of the claims and some say he is upset about the way the entire situation has been handled.

The school will not comment as it is a personnel issue. I have reached out to Thrap.

Thrap responded, "I just want to say publicly that the support and love from the community has been overwhelming and very heartwarming. Sometimes you never know how many lives you've touched until something like this happens unfortunately."

"I would also like to say that I apologize to anyone who heard my comments and was offended by them. It was the heat of battle and I made a mistake and used inappropriate language. Once again thank you to everybody for all the support and love."
