Power out after vehicle hit pole on Sixth street

Shortly after 0400 a power pole was stuck by a vehicle at Sixth Street at Myrtle Ave. Power is out in the area.

The pole was completely sheared at the base. Pacific Gas and Electric crews are on scene as well as Humboldt Bay Fire, Eureka Police  and Eureka Public Works.

At this time we have no information on the vehicle, occupants or why it left the roadway.

Traffic is restricted from turning from Myrtle to Sixth. Add extra time for your commute or avoid the area.
