Nina Viescas released from jail due to overcrowding, booked again on new warrant
As of 2/24 11 a.m. Nina Viescas is still in custody.
Press Release:
On February 22, 2019, the Fortuna Police Department learned that Nina Viescas had been released with an agreement to appear following her warrant arrest on February 21, 2019 because she did not meet the criteria for housing in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility due to current jail overcrowding.
We also learned that a new felony warrant had been issued following her release yesterday. The new warrant was issued on an additional case for writing fictitious checks to additional victims.
The department identified several additional victims of Viescas’ check writing practices including a local Girl Scout Troop for Girl Scout Cookies.
Investigators with the Fortuna Police Department prepared a search warrant for Viescas’ Smith Lane residence to obtain additional evidence related to the criminal activities committed in the City of Fortuna and once a warrant was obtained, responded to the 3000 block of Smith Lane to execute the warrant which had been issued by a Humboldt County Superior Court Judge.
During the service of the warrant, officers located items related to her criminal acts. Viescas was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on her new warrant. She is currently housed on a $50,000.00 bail.

You'll never see her again
ReplyDeleteStealing from the Girl Scouts that's cold. Rockstar job by FPD.
ReplyDeleteBetter raise that bail a whole lot more she could easily go into hiding as Edward G Robinson.
