Change of plea in one case and sentencing for Michael Black's other cases scheduled for next week
On January 28, 2019, a mistrial was declared in Michael Black's case. He was charged with criminal threats against local attorney Russ Clanton. On that day, Deputy District Attorney A.J. Kamada told Judge Kaleb Cockrum, the People would refile charges. No new complaint has been filed for that PC 422 charge. Jury trial in that case is set for March 18.
Black was scheduled to be sentenced today on other cases. Today, Mr. Kamada told Judge Cockrum "we are close to a resolution on the PC 422." Change of plea is scheduled for that case on February 28. Sentencing on the other cases was continued to the same day.
Black is represented by Ms. Andrea Sullivan.
