Alleged human trafficker David Anderson's stunt in court does not work with Judge Neel

Preliminary hearing for David Anderson was scheduled for today. He has two cases; one is an alleged violation of parole. The other case includes several charges including human trafficking.

Before she called the calendar, Judge Kelly Neel said there was limited courtroom availability and some cases would be able to proceed today. Cases with time not waived get priority.

Prior to his  case being called, Anderson handed a letter to his attorney.

Anderson had waived time.  Deputy Conflict Counsel Joe Judge told Judge Neel that "today his client was not waiving time."

"Mr. Anderson, you previously entered a time waiver. This matter is going to be reset." Judge Neel added the dates could be set within a short time.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads told Judge Neel, "I expect to a begin a trial soon. " She has two other jury trials, Seng Yang and Cory Fisher, scheduled to start next week. Ms. Eads said that she had discussions with Mr. Judge and there is additional information expected in the next few weeks that will be relevant to the case. She also has a witness coming in from South Korea for a jury trial.

Based on all these factors, intervention is scheduled for March 12; preliminary hearing for March 18.
