On February 21, 2019 at 5:09 a.m. the Fortuna Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call from a subject reporting a stabbing in the 2300 block of Acacia Drive in Fortuna.
Officers from the Fortuna Police Department as well as personnel from the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department and City Ambulance responded and located evidence of a stabbing but were unable to locate a victim.
Approximately 30 minutes later, the California Highway Patrol Communications Center reported that they had received a call from a subject stating someone was bleeding but no location was provided.
The Fortuna Police Department Communications Center then received an additional call stating that there was a stabbing victim located on the sidewalk in the 2400 block of Redwood Way. Officers responded along with personnel from the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department and City Ambulance. Upon arrival Officer located a 51 year old male stabbing victim.
The victim was transported to St Joseph Hospital where he remained in stable condition.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives served a search warrant in the 2300 block of Acacia Drive to search for and recover evidence associated with this ongoing investigation.
As a result of this investigation, Detectives have identified a suspect who will not be identified at this time.
But how did the victim get from Acacsia to Redwood Way without his car? Who dropped him off? Another twist to this may be his attacker was the victim's son (ages of dad and son fit), they had an argument (over drugs?)and the son stabbed his Dad. The son drove his Dad to Redwood Way Near Hospital?) ,panicked and dropped him off and then drove off. Something to think about as a cause and affect.
