Ruling on 995 motion in Ray Christie's case continued to February 4

Trial setting and a ruling on the defense motion to dismiss charges in Ray Christie's case was scheduled for January 7. Arguments presented by attorneys this morning.  Ruling and trial setting continued to February 4.

The defense argued that the cattle had auction tags, the deputies should have checked the price of the cattle and done due diligence about the condition of the cattle before they were purchased by Christie.  The People oppose the motion to dismiss.

The case is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney A.J. Kamada. Christie is represented by Mr. Ken Bareilles and Mr. John Cogorno.
