Multiple arrests, leading to disqualification on his recent case by a Judge, Markis Shirley shouldnt be arrogant about a possible plea

Intervention was scheduled for Markis Shirley's DUI case on January 15. Preliminary hearing is still scheduled for January 29. However a change of plea is scheduled for January 24 at 8:30 p.m. in Courtroom 3. The DUI is Shirley's most recent arrest.

Today, Deputy Public Defender Luke Brownfield told Judge Kaleb Cockrum that "we are close to a resolution."

Shirley piped up and said, "possibly."

Judge Cockrum had to disqualify from himself as he represented Shirley in the past.

Shirley posted bail in this case and was released on January 10.

This is the same guy that was arrested on rape charges of an escort worker in 2015. He showed up with no money and then forced himself on Jane Doe. I covered the preliminary hearing. The plea deal for that case was for a lesser charges of criminal threats and burglary.
