In all actuality...you truly sound like the lowlife.....a lawyer defends an individual regardless of their potential conviction or morality. Otherwise we would not have a fair system .

I remember back in the 80's and 90's when Mothers Against Drunk Driving was active/influential (at least in some parts of the country), and would have been outraged by the minimizing suggested by an OR. At the same time, the local bail system still strikes me as highly dysfunctional, a subject I haven't had time to dig into. If bail is just to ensure a person shows up, certainly she'll show up and an OR would be appropriate. But would Kathleen NeverHeardOf, with the same background, be accorded the same treatment? A study for another time.
