Will the jury trial for Seng Yang charged with the forcible rape of his daughter and coercing her to participate in production of pornography start or resolve?

Jury trial for Seng Yang was scheduled for August 27. The DA had made an offer of 39 years; it was rejected by Yang.

Yang is charged with 16 counts which include forcible rape of Jane Doe (his own daughter) and exhibiting a minor in pornography. Alleged victim for all counts is Jane Doe.

Attorneys met privately with Judge Dale Reinholtsen at 3:30. Then Public Defender Marek Reavis spoke privately with family members. The courtroom was not opened to the public. Mr. Reavis spoke briefly with family members outside.  He is going to meet with Yang this weekend.

A Hmong interpreter is needed for Yang. At this point, any official decision about whether there is a jury trial on Monday will have to wait until Monday. Will the case resolve? A Marsden motion is scheduled for Monday.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting this case. Public Defender Marek Reavis is representing Yang.

Time estimate 21 days.

No one else has covered this case.

  1. This fat disgusting liar does not need an interpreter. He is a liar. His daughter isn’t his only victim. I know their family well.
