Freshwater residents brought Margaret Mead's words to life on August 23

The Freshwater residents and all community members who showed up August 23 at the Joshua Cooley placement hearing brought Margaret Mead's words to life.

Most of my contact prior to August 23 was with Nicole Riggs.  Nicole did a lot of research and organizing and put her name out there for weeks before August 23.

Third District Supervisor Mike Wilson showing up in solidarity with his constituents, speaking himself but humbly giving credit to the 70 plus people who showed up is a great example of an elected official.

The Freshwater residents didn't just take on the system and win for themselves but spoke up for all of Humboldt. They showed that the power of a united people can bring change, victory and be done respectfully.

  1. This really points out the need for some new blood to take over this State. Take a idyllic community like Freshwater and drop a violent sex offender in it. What kind of idiots would think this was a good idea ? What kind of idiots even think it's a good idea to ever let this sub human waste of oxygen out of Prison ?
    Great job Freshwater.
