The comment (above) is from Eric Kirk's blog. There is also one about Hailey Lamb from the same anonymous commenter.
So the dirty campaigning has begun. I got some questions and observations for TRUMPTASTROPHE.
1. The name isn't fooling anyone.
You attacked Hailey Lamb, a woman and Ward 1 candidate. You also attacked Caroline Brooks, another Ward 1 candidate and a woman. These attacks on a socialist blog that no Trump supporter would read. You could be anyone but the name choice is so obvious.
The anon name could also be construed as an intent to smear a third candidate Anthony Mantova.
Anthony Mantova met with both Caroline Brooks and Hailey Lamb. Has Leslie Castellano? Leslie asked Hailey to drop out.
2. You are posting on a blog that hardly anyone reads anymore. It is certainly not a source for original or breaking news.
3. Did you bother to ask Caroline Brooks the questions in your comment? I have.
Ms. Brooks response to my email:
"It is stated manager so the public understood my job title. Instead of eligibility worker III-lead worker, I put manager because much of the public does not know what eligibility worker III or lead worker means. In the private sector, I acted in the role of manager. I acted in lieu of the supervisor. My help was oftentimes requested instead of my supervisor!
If this is going to get petty, it’s like calling a janitor a custodian. They both do the same job, it’s all semantics. I was an eligibility worker III (& proud of it), which would be the equivalent of a manager in any private sector job. "
4. Do you really think a socialist lawyer is a journalist? Unless Eric's law career is over and he actually intends to be a journalist and report full time. That means reporting actual news for a legit source that is supported by ads and has a following comprised of more than friends, acquaintances and a few like minded locals.
5. Why didn't you ask questions about Anthony Mantova or Leslie Castellano's political connections, parents or background?
Readers and voters can figure out themselves who would want to smear Hailey Lamb and Caroline Brooks.

ReplyDelete1. I have no idea what an eligibility manager is, but if Ms. Brooks says she's an eligibility manager I take her at her word. I think there are more pressing issues to the campaign. I posted about her because of all the candidates for the three wards and mayor, her's is the only one for which I've seen no signs and no notice of events. I wondered if she was playing her campaign down to avoid being blamed for spoiling it for Mr. Mantova in November. She posted on my blog to say that's not the case and to comment on Managergate.
2. I don't know about socialist lawyers, but many lawyers do become journalists. If I were to take that route, I'm probably wouldn't be the first socialist lawyer to have done so. I am not presently inclined to do that.
3. I have no idea who Trumptastrophe is other than a very passionate poster who uses some very colorful language to make a point. I really doubt it's Larry Glass.
4. I intended from the beginning for my blog to be for quiet political discussion, but most of the normal people have been chased away by some of my regulars who are kind of odd. It blew up during the Reggae War, but has been relatively quiet ever since. Every once in a while something like this blows up.
5. Margaret Meade was a socialist.
Ahhh so was Adolf Hitler and Meade was more of a socialite.
ReplyDeleteHitler wasn't a socialist any more than East Germany was Democratic. You could win points in Europe during the Depression by calling yourself a socialist and Hitler later regretting using it because it implied promises he had no intention of keeping.
DeleteWhat Hitler did accomplish was to eliminate or loosen the Weimar Republic's gun control - made it much easier to purchase and keep guns - as long as you weren't Jewish or Communist.
Mead was a scholar and expressed her views in extensive writing. She did write about her observations in the South Pacific of course, but she also wrote about Jewish immigrants, Russian culture, etc. After she died somebody tried to discredit her work by digging up somebody she had interviewed to say that he had made up stories to impress her, but that discrediting has been discredited by noting that the work was based primarily upon observations, not one interview.
A very remarkable woman. Very strong to be openly bisexual while ignoring her family's pressure to have children so she could pursue anthropology.
Eric, you are free to go off on tangents on your blog. I printed your first comment since it responded to questions raised but was deflection. Socialism, bisexuality is not what this post is about. I have printed your second comment. If you wabt to go on and on about socialism, do it on your blog. My commenters stick to the topic at hand. I moderate my comments and don't have time to waste.
