Felony sex offense case against Lucus Paradise dismissed today
The case against Lucus Paradise was dismissed on the motion made by the People at trial assignment today.
Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer told Judge Christopher Wilson that the People are"unable to proceed at this time.
"Jane Doe's mother has moved to Nebraska. The children are in foster care, we are unable to secure them."
The misdemeanor offer was declined by the defense. Ms. Schaffer said the People may refile.
Paradise was represented by Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo.
Paradise was charged with with two acts of lewd act upon a child who was 14 years of younger at the time of the alleged crime.
Further trial confirmation was scheduled for Lucus Paradise on August 29. Jury trial is scheduled for September 4 is vacated.
