Ex HSU football player Raul Sierra not in court, no attorney , no information so warrant issued

A 18 month diversion review hearing was scheduled this afternoon in Courtroom 1 for ex HSU football player Raul Sierra. He was originally charged with forcible rape by use of drugs but the case resolved with a plea of guilty to one count of false imprisonment by violence and one count of assault

Sierra was not present. No attorney was present. Hearing was continued to March 7.

Visiting Judge Douglas Mewhinney issued a warrant for $5,000 but stayed it until the next court hearing.

The court clerk will try and contact Mr. Beorn Zepp.

Deputy District Attorney Ms. Murdock said there was proof of community service hours being completed  but no proof of counseling.

DA will contact victim to see if Sierra stayed away from her as required and check to see if he has had any arrests since the plea. If he meets requirements he agreed to in August 2016, Count 1 will be dismissed, his plea for Count 2 will remain.

Sierra got a deferred entry of judgement to Count 1 which is false imprisonment by violence. He plead no contest to an added Count 2, a misdemeanor, Assault.

He did not get additional jail time other than the few days he served as a result of the plea. He has to do counseling for alcohol, sex and consent issues, community service, obey all laws and is on three years of conditional probation.

A criminal protective order is in place and he is to stay away from HSU and the victim in this case.  Ms. Rigmor Soerensen stated her name in court and also for the preliminary so I am using it in this post and she is fine with that.

Sierra has to pay all fines and restitution to the victim for out of court expenses.

The post linked below has more details from the hearing when Sierra entered his plea. Also posted below are minutes from that hearing.

Mr. Manny Daskal and Mr. Beorn Zepp represented Sierra.
