Humboldt Bay Fire Joint Powers Authority affirms Chief Gillespie's decision about Matt McFarland

Humboldt Bay Fire Joint Powers Authority affirmed Chief Bill Gillespie's decision about asking Matt McFarland  to remove his BLM pin, while he is in uniform.


According to a press release, The Board found that Chief Gillespie's decision was consistent with the Firefighters Bill of Rights Act. The Board clarified that their decision was made in accordance with policy and did not indicate an agreement or disagreement with the Black Lives Matter Movement.
