Convicted sex offender Ryan Taylor Landowski was arrested yesterday by Eureka Police Department for PC290.011 (a) failure to register.
I have covered him since 2019. The November 8, 2025 post has all my coverage.

First District Supervisor Rex Bohn choses to post County official updates, plugs businesses like Happy Donuts and posts personal updates like this on his personal Facebook page.
Lately, some of his posts have dwindled to four comments or 1 comment like this one.
Only 5 people chose to like this post and none of them are anyone recognizable to most in Humboldt.
Has Narcissist Rex's need for constant attention finally resulted in Rex fatigue? Are his Bubba good ole boys ashamed to like his post in public?
Yeah, you are grumpy Rex and you are old.
Rex constantly needs to flex how "important" he is and he bores me when he interrupts my conversations at the Courthouse with the "hey boss" or over the top hand shaking with whoever I am talking with at the moment.
Other than the good ole boys and gal leeches who benefit from him and pretend to like him; anyone with class and fashion sense considers Rex an embarassment to Humboldt.
Besides pot grows and several of those businesses for sale and broke, a few good ole boy Humboldt ranchers and dairy farmers living the life eating at few overpriced restaurants in the First District, what does that area have to offer economically to the rest of Humboldt and what has Rex done to improve the life of majority of his constituents who aren't good ole boys?
Should I wait for one of the typical proxy, stleath attacks that predictably follows a post I do about you Rex? I know how people in Humboldt, including you, operate if media or someone crosses you and the good ole boys of Humboldt. One of those conversations was right outside the Board of Supervisors with you about the North Coast Journal but that was in the days when it had a different owner and publisher.
Speaking of clothes, a few months ago, Ray Christie was at the Courthouse. Rex who thinks he owns 825 5th street including the steps questioned Ray why he was at the courthouse. There were two other people around who witnessed this interaction.
Ray quipped, "When I win my lawsuit against you, I am looking to see what I can take." Ray also said something about the County being sued so often, broke and if anything would be left for him to take in compensation. Rex said something like I have a chair in my office you can have but it is camo.
Rex is the epitome of the entitled, good ole Humboldt bully who gets into a position of power and influence because he delivers for certain selfish, incompetent people and then remains for decades living off a taxpayer salary because of the impotent, local cowards too afraid to say what they think of Rex to his face. This includes the other local cowardly media.
There are people who work hard in Humboldt and build businesses and employ people. Then there are those who made money when pot was illegal, still make money when pot is legal, get grants or business because they suck up to the good ole Humboldt cabal or screw people over. Those are the people who find my reporting inconvenient because the other good ole boy owned, operated and cowardly media leaves them alone.
Rex those who call you "the hardest working supervisor" must know something I don't. You are around the Courthouse early hours, after hours and often on weekends when no one else is around. Took this photo this morning at 10:25. Saw you driving on 4th street near K yesterday around 10 a.m.
I walk around that area multiple times a day. The other Humboldt County Supervisors, past and present, somehow manage to do their jobs during regular hours and not being at the Courthouse so often afterhours and on weekends.
Since you are so "well connected" to local good ole boy businesses and several have access to power washing equipment, here is a suggestion that will actually benefit Humboldt. Have them hose off the Courthouse steps you think you own which are filthy and they can donate their services to the community and you can glorify how "wonderful" they are on your Facebook page.
Why is Rex Bohn for Supervisor donating to Eureka City Council Ward 3 candidate Janelle Jackson? Why didn't Rex or a family member donate? I don't have a problem with Janelle. I do with Rex getting involved in who is elected as a City of Eureka councilmember.
When will there be a No Humboldt Kings protest every Saturday and weekday for months? There won't. Humboldt locals will only protest about anything and anyone if it involves zero risks.
Why should I give a damn about a community where I suffer, get harassed and attacked daily for the truth and for giving a voice to those treated unjustly because generations of "locals" and transplants have allowed and created King Rexosaurus and his ilk because of their Humboldt cowardice.
Posting on Facebook, sending emails is all Humboldt does and complain about those trying to improve and protect this community.
Jimmy had class and was kind. Seeing Rex in his position is disgraceful.
I have been adding minor updates to both posts on attempted murder Blaine Becksted.
If you did not read the June 28, 2026 post, you need to because this a follow up from updates added to that post.
On 9/9/26, Ms. Joanne Carter present in court for the alleged victim. Defense request to modify protective order granted by Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge John Feeney. Senior Deputy DA Roger Rees present for the People. Ms. Andrea Sullivan for Becksted.
On 9/2/26, doctors appointed to evaluate Becksted. Trial setting continued to 12/18/26 with receipt of expert reports. There can be several continuances for doctor reports so minor updates will be added to this post. Senior Deputy DA Whitney Timm was present for the People. She agreed with Ms. Sullivan to the appointment of Dr. Perkins and Dr. Chamberlain. Humboldt Superior Court Judge Steven Steward signed the order. Doctors to be paid at County expense.
Ward Allen Johnson was arrested by Eureka Police Department at 6:12 for several charges: PC 664/187(a) attempted murder, PC 236 false imprisonment, BP 25658(a) selling or giving alcohol to a minor, HS 11350(a) possession of a controlled substance, HS 11364(a) possession of drug paraphernalia, HS 11364(a), PC 148.9(a) giving false ID to an officer, PC 273.5(a) domestic violence and PC 287(c)(2)(a ) forcible oral copulation. You see two bookings because Johnson was initially refused by medical. Some are new charges, some Ramey warrant and others bench warrant.
Today, U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar sentenced 54-Year-Old Brentwood resident, Zane Ishmael Covington to 25 years in federal prison for production, receipt, and possession of child pornography.
Sonoma Superior Court Judge Shelly Averill issued her tentative ruling on the issues in Gregory Kreis vs Brenda Elvine's family law case on September 4, 2026.
I did a detailed post on September 8 on the ruling. As expected both parties have objections. Brenda Elvine's proof of service is available in Humboldt Superior Court but not the document.
No proof of service for Gregory Kreis but the filing by his lawyer Kelly Walsh is in the system. For the locals following my coverage of this family law case, Walsh takes every opportunity to repeat like a parrot, Brenda Elvine's letter which only I published and blaming Brenda Elvine for Kreis' financial woes.
When Brenda Elvine's objections are available, I will add them to the post. I have included the POS by Brenda Elvine's lawyer David Lederman and Walsh's filing for Kreis.
After my post, Brenda Elvine's 9/23/26 filing was scanned into e court. It has been added to this post.
This morning U.S. District Judge Noël Wise heard arguments on County of Humboldt's motion to dismiss Ray Christie's federal lawsuit.

5:47 City Ambulance just left. Eureka Police Department still on scene. This corner on 4th requires constant attention from EPD and CSET. 5:49 One EPD patrol.vehicle just left.
In August, I reported on his plea with details. Today, he was finally sentenced by Humboldt Superior Court Judge Kaleb Cockrum.
Senior Deputy DA Whitney Timm is the prosecutor. Deputy Conflict Counsel Owen Tipps is Birimisa's attorneys.
Court minutes are included. I am not linking posts or spelling out details. Have several cases to update and if you read me regularly, it has been non stop intense insanity with Humboldt court cases and drama. I will add more when I can.
Anil Dwivedi, one of three candidates for Mayor and Ward 1 candidate Jason McCutcheon filed their 460s. Dwivedi gave himself $80 and $50 through Dwivedi LLC. John Chaffin gave $500. Alpesh Natha through Bayside Inn and Suites gave $250 and his dad Magan Nathan through Super 8 in Eureka gave $251. Magan and Alpesh are the same family who operate Townhouse Motel. None of this is a surprise if you read my post on Dwivedi's endorsements. Annette De Modena and Kevin Savio are the two names most people who follow politics in Eureka will recognize on Jason's 460. I recognize other names on Jason's 460 and they definitely lean or are conservative. Jason has one donation from Rio Dell. I recognize some of my readers on Jason's 460. Since I posted Eureka Mayor Kim Bergel's 460, I posted pages from Dwivedi on the blog. Ward 1 candidate Victor Garcia larger donations are from unions and from Victor Garcia Sr and Maribel Garcia who donated twice.
Exclusive Selah Town Ramey warrant.
I went, requested and paid for the Ramey warrant which was signed by Humboldt Superior Court Judge April Van Dyke at 1:46 p.m. on 9/22/26.
It has the name of the officer, a photo of Selah Town, the arrest warrant being reviewed and approved by Humboldt DA Stacey Eads, details of the officer arriving and what he observed about Ronnie Franklin, what he observed about Selah Town and why he believed Town was a flight risk after talking to an acquaintance of Town who was on active DUI probation.

Just this morning, I put in a lot of time and effort to get information on charges and now the Ramey warrant and post live while checking on other cases and news.
I have cropped identifying information from the first page of the Ramey warrant.
I am not putting any more details on Facebook. I have added some pages from the Ramey warrant on the blog before arraignment. Other media or people who rip off my work, time, what I paid off without credit when I clearly state material is copyrighted on my blog and here and this is exclusive information I paid for and put in time, be warned that I can take legal action. This Ramey warrant is not public record. Certain other media just copy what I do especially when it comes to courts. I am tired of Humboldt freeloaders.
I don't know how much Ronnie's family knows about what the officer saw when he arrived on the scene. Just the brief description in the Ramey warrant is hard to read. Please accept my prayers for your healing and loss.
9/29/26: Selah Town's OR bail hearing is in Courtroom 5 in front of Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran. He is the one who arraigned her on the charges. Probation filed the supervised release report today.
Courtroom 5 will do arraignments first, close the courtroom, then reopen for the Towns case. Ronnie Franklin's grandmother, mom and family are already here.
2:14 update and exclusive about Selah Town. Mr. Patrik Griego is here with the family. The hallway is packed with family and supporters of Ronnie Franklin. There is limited space in Courtroom 5 and I decided I will not be in the courtroom this afternoon so that family has space to sit. They have two rows cordoned off for months that need to be fixed. I also heard, and this isn't official yet, that Town will withdraw her request for OR bail hearing. Again, this has not been said on record. The hearing is before Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran and I doubt he will release her.
She withdrew her request for the supervised release and bail review. The no bail hold remains. Town entered a time waiver and preliminary hearing was continued to 12/10 due to significant discovery that defense still has not received.
Senior Deputy DA Roger Rees is the prosecutor. Deputy Public Defender Emery Welton appeared for Deputy Public Defender Ryan McClurg who assigned to Town's case.
At 10:20, I stopped by the Humboldt County DA's office and the CHP report for Selah Town was received. Charges are being entered right now.
Here are the complete charges which include murder, DUI with several special allegations. Arraignment is scheduled this afternoon. Right now it says late arraignment but with courts, things change. I will add attorney and date information after the hearing. I don't have to be in the courtroom for that information but I will go to see if my hunch about who Town's attorney is correct.
Selah Rylan Town aka Marcayla Salas has a blood alcohol level of .19/20 but that blood alcohol concentration is pending according to the complaint.
I almost did not post this because the other media follow my blog and Facebook page. I do the work and they get free tips. If they get the charges in today, it because like you, they heard it here first.
On September 21, I reported that Rocket Dog Rescue filed an application to amend the First Amended Complaint. On 9/21, Humboldt Superior Court Assistant Presiding Judge granted that request. The order was entered into e court today.
Yesterday, on 9/23/26, jury selection was going on for Miller's 2024 case in which he is charged with attempted murder, resisting an executive officer, assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm with a special allegation for great and bodily injury and criminal threats.
Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Christopher Wilson has been assigned to this trial. Senior Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor. Ms. Rebecca Linkous is Miller's attorney.
