KRCR General Manager John Manzi responded to my email and March 18 post. If you read that post, only FTV.live reported what my reader asked me about Eureka. I did additional research, read what Sinclair redponded about changes and contacted KRCR. The KAEF change has yet to be reported by other local media two days later.
"Hi John,
As we continue the evolution of our stations in Northern California, we are making some changes to the way we produce news to ensure our long term success. Beginning April 3rd, Eureka will join our North State News brand of newscasts. We will continue to air Daybreak M-F 5-7A, which is a regional newscast covering Redding, Chico, and Eureka. We will add a new regional newscast on KAEF in Eureka M-F at 530P as well as telecast regional newscasts M-Sun at 10P on KBVU (FOX) and M-Sun 11P on KAEF. M-F at 6P, we will continue to produce and telecast on KAEF a Eureka specific newscast. Though our viewers in Eureka will see some different faces on the air (they will also continue to see familiar faces), they will receive the local news, traffic, and weather affecting their communities."
