Last night, at 11:54, I received an email about my latest post on Humboldt Superior Court Gregory J. Kreis. I have received so many emails about Kreis and Joe Hale that it would be a full time job if I printed and pursued them all.
Since there is an ongoing lawsuit and investigation about Kreis and since the DA's office has repeatedly ignored my emails about why former court mediator Joe Hale 's report is MIA and not commenting on why there are no charges, you should read the latest email I received.
There have been so many complaints from defendants, citizens, attorneys. There were concerns expressed and feedback given even before Kreis was appointed. Former California Governor Jerry Brown still appointed Kreis.
Current California Gavin Newsom and CA Judicial Council have failed the people. There is no recourse in a small, rural entrenched county where everyone is either married, related or beholden and enable each other. Courts are the last recourse and they suffer from the Humboldt Connected plague of entrenched nepotism, incompetence and injustice.
Based on past decisions about holding their own accountable which includes attorneys and County Counsel in Humboldt, expecting justice from those supposed to oversee courts and judges is a joke.
Now, the CJP has to clean the mess created daily by an arrogant, incompetent, petty, little Napolean. This only after tons of people and attorneys complained and consistent coverage on this blog. Calling Kreis a man would be an insult to real and decent men.
Unless your life has been destroyed by what someone aptly dubbed the"kangaroo courts" referring to Humboldt Superior Court, you have no idea of the damage done.
So many people have expressed relief that Kreis is no longer in family court fulltime. His time in family court was a disaster and disgrace for many reasons and those this is directed at, know why. Just like this reader, many others have told me that Judge Lawrence Killoran is reasonable and fair in family court.
Email:
Good evening. I have a lot of interest in your reports regarding Humboldt Superior Court cases. More specifically, Judge Kreis, and still awaiting any updates on Joe Hale. The most recent post regarding the family law case. The investigation regarding Kries should be a public matter imo. Those impacted by his decisions on the bench that were inappropriate and obviously bias should be connected to share their stories, and by those who have had their families lives negatively impacted by unprofessional behaviors and methods get an opportunity to report of their experiences and seek for change, and resolve where warranted.
The problem resides within what you poignantly point out as a very small community with seemingly no regard for what is just in many cases, but whom is protected within their system. It would be of great benefit to the public to report on how people impacted by their practices can advocate for themselves SAFELY and without prejudice. I truly believe more people will advocate for themselves and the community if backed and supported by others and entities outside of Humboldt County.
In the Family court sector I have had Kries on the bench for hearings, trials, and he interviewed my minor son in chambers in October 2021 just before Killoran took the bench in January 2022. He was a completely different judge it seemed, compared to my observations from 2019. It was apparent that how he addressed cases definitely changed. I strongly believe that how he handled the in chambers meeting with my minor son was blatantly bias and lead to tens of thousands of dollars, and a long, unnecessary trial for the new residing Judge to grasp the truths within our case. I have the transcripts from said interview.
On a personal and family aspect it has led to me being financially indebted, so much unnecessary lost time from my child, and confusion for my child as to basic moral and honest values.
I am determined to advocate for those getting blind sighted and victimized within the family court system. I've been in court room 6 more times than I can count from multiple exparte filings, due to abusive litigation from the other parties. hearings, trials, continuances, mediation, etc. The entire system seems to be a hamster on a broken wheel type of experience. since 2011 - 2022. I want to take the knowledge I have gained from the years of experience pro per, and represented by the best of humboldts family attorneys. I've represented myself against Hansen, as well as, obtained Kelly Walsh with the other party having the absurdly, almost comical new attorney Callie Buck through a nearly 10 month trial. Thankfully Killoran seems to be more thorough, yet imo unnecessarly so in this instance, at least he is reasonable, and fair from what I have observed thus far.
Joe Hale treated family mediation like a used car lot, with him being the salesman; negotiating what he could get parties to agree upon for his own accord. All the while comparing other families, demeaning characters (both parties, continually) interrupting, rushing, and omitting key facts in his reports to the court. It was relief to hear that unassuming families would not have to go through his degrading tactics at the beginning of their custody cases.
It is important to me that the more people know how this system operates, and advise on many factors regarding navigating through it. advocating for others to lend support and knowledge that may prevent them from becoming victimized by family law practices.
Thank you for your journalism and no BS, honest reporting!! In a county where people are silently oppressing their experiences, or shunned for whistle blowing, or on the other foot corrupt, or brushing things under filthy dirty rugs, your work is so refreshing.
The whack a mole follow up by the sub standard on Kreis is typical. I break the story, take the risk and backlash. The rest of the local media wait until it is safe and do some random , incomplete bland one time coverage. The other local media have done this so many times with news I reported first. People know, people observe, people have called them out.

** I am no longer linking the many posts I have done on Hale and Kreis. My regular readers read me daily. Others by now should have read them since they have been linked several times or you can use the search feature on this blog or Google.
