No BOS agenda online or posted outside the Courthouse?

Last night no agenda or even listing for 3/28/23 Board of Supervisors meeting online. This morning at 10:53 a.m.  I went to to the 5th street entrance where the agendas are usually posted and walked right past Rex Bohn who was leaving the Courthouse.

There is no agenda posted for the 3/28 meeting. Unless the 9 a.m. notification from the County about the 3/28/23 BOS meeting is incorrect, there should be an agenda. The website doesn't show 3/28 as a cancelled meeting. The only paper agenda outside Courthouse is from 3/21/23.

Not everyone knows to check Humboldt legistar or look outside the Courthouse. The County website is not user friendly to find agendas.

I get this notification from the County at 12:44 p.m..An hour and 44 minutes after after my post today.

Instead of a regular meeting, the BOS wasted more tax payer money for two days at the Benbow Inn for a special meeting on 3/23 and 3/24 paying an outside facilitator for long term planning and strategic planning.

Strategy to do exactly what?

Discussing how to drive more industries and businesses in Humboldt into the ground? Raising more taxes to be wasted on more lawsuits that could have been avoided?
Creating more lack of housing by their inaction because the status quo benefits their buddies and the good ole boy network? Interesting that they finally have Bnbs on the agenda after I recently pointed out several times that contributes to shortage of available housing in Humboldt.

Hiring more of their buddies and family members? Aproving and granting projects in their family, friends and funders circle? Calling preferred "media" owned and controlled by the good ole boy network to spin about their lackluster leadership?

Drugs, poverty, crime, homelessness, abandoned storefronts and an economy mostly dependent on pot, alcohol, gambling, grant and government subsidies is Humboldt's elected officials' track record. State funds are not guaranteed. Projects touted have been told they won't get funds promised.

We used to have citizens and local media who paid attention to the Brown Act and at least some people participating in meetings. Elected officials in Humboldt and the County departments do whatever they want because the apathy in Humboldt has become worse. Didn't think it could sink lower.

To those who like sloppy lazy work lazy media and patronizing sub standard restaurants, you enable the misery the rest of us have to suffer. For those of us with standards and who care about accountability and transparency, we don't settle for incompetence and mediocrity because "it is the Humboldt way".
