Tomorrow trial setting is scheduled in Ray Christie's 2018 case. The defense filed two documents on March 6 requesting another medical continuance. One is a status update regarding Christie's medical condition. The other is a declaration from his attorney, Mr. Rick Richmond which contains some information previously mentioned and covered and some new medical updates.
Retired Judge John Feeney heard the last motion to continue. Tomorrow's hearing is scheduled in Courtroom 3.
Mr. Richmond ends his declaration with, "When the People’s case against Mr. Christie began in early 2018, Mr. Christie had none of the serious medical conditions for which he is currently receiving treatment."
"It is my personal belief the People’s pursuit of Mr. Christie since 2018 has negatively impacted his health. Having had his health already taken from him, Mr. Christie is not presently in a condition that would allow him to meaningfully defend himself in a felony trial in which the People are seeking to take away his liberty and his livelihood.
