Convicted human trafficker has to register as a sex offender and denied probation

Sentencing for convicted human trafficker David Anderson was continued to April 1. He was sentenced to five years which was the negotiated disposition. He has 1, 685 custody credits. Anderson has to register as a sex offender and that will be for 10 years. Probation was denied as Anderson is ineligible. He was sentenced to concurrent time on his PRCS violation and given credit for time served.

Just like the last time, Anderson will be out on the streets again in no time.

Once again, livestream was delayed and this time for half an hour. It was only corrected after notification from me and others. Judge Christopher Wilson brushing off comments about the delay in livestream and people having trouble signing on from Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads and Deputy Public Defender Ben McLaughlin is arrogant and disrespectful. If the California Judicial Council wants more remote proceedings, then they need to pay attention to the ongoing challenges in local courts pre and post pandemic.

1108 victim "Elle Snow" testified. While her real name was stated on the record, I am not listing it. She did have trouble signing on Zoom but as mentioned above, there were issues because the livestream was not turned on.

The victim in this case, Jane Doe made statements and her mother wrote a letter which was read into record by Ms. Eads .

Mr. Michael Acosta is Anderson's attorney. Defense stipulated to a restraining order.

In February, Anderson resolved his case before his jury trial.

Anderson waived his apellate rights, pleaded guilty to four felony charges and a PRCS violation. The plea is for a potential 5 year prison term and any additional time for the PRCS could be served consecutively or concurrently. He will retain custody credits until sentencing. Anderson already has 26 months in actual credits and will get 4019 custody credits. There is discretion by the Court and he may or may not have to register as a sex offender. Remaining counts were dismissed.

Anderson pleaded guilty to one count of attempted pandering, one count of false imprisonment and two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

Anderson's PRCS violation was for providing inaccurate address of his residence to the supervising officer.
