"It was by far the coolest and most rewarding thing I have done in law enforcement. "

Last fall, the Eureka Police Officer’s Association (EPOA) became aware of a local family with a tremendous and unique situation.  Through the collaboration of friends and colleagues and input from a local school district and EPD School Resource Officer Chris Jenkins, it was decided that a play structure and play equipment was most appropriate for the family’s needs.

The play structure was purchased by the EPOA and several officers volunteered their time to help build it.

Officer Marsolan said, “It was by far the coolest and most rewarding thing I have done in law enforcement. It was amazing to see it through and with the support and encouragement from EPOA and EPD we were able to finish it just in time for summer.”

The EPOA is funded through employee contributions, fundraisers, and community donations.
