Setting of preliminary hearing scheduled for local attorney Michael Acosta and Sarah Carroll this morning and confirmation of counsel for Carroll was continued to July 16.
Mr. Acosta was in court. Carroll was not present via Zoom or phone. She does have a 977 waiver of personal appearance on file.
Ms. Andrea Sullivan was contacted by the courts, approved for appointment for Carroll and appointed today by Judge Timothy Canning. She is going to get the file and meet with Carroll.
Mr. Acosta is representing himself. Carroll was without an attorney after the last hearing so the document below was prepared by her as defendant pro per. Carroll and Mr. Acosta both plan to exercise C.C. P Code 170.6 peremptory challenges. I have copies of both documents.

Acosta against Judge Timothy Canning.
The remaining four Humboldt Superior Court Judges; Judge Lawrence Killoran, Judge Kelly Neel, Judge Christopher Wilson and Judge Kaleb Cockrum all recused themselves from the case.
Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm was present for the People.
Does the rest of the local media have the guts to cover and investigate Mr. Acosta's claims objectively? My record shows that I do take on the entrenched establishment in this small town regardless of who it in the courts and other news. I am the only one who has followed up on the others arrested as a part of the investigation.
