Starting June 15, defendants with felony charges can appear in person for arraignments

Humboldt Superior Court sent out a press release regarding felony arraignments.

I clarified with Humboldt Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson further regarding who would have access to the second floor. "Only the defendants that have received notice of the felony arraignment hearings will be allowed on the court floor at this time.  All public access to public court hearings continues to be via remote video broadcasting (YouTube)," she told me.

Press Release:

"Beginning Monday, June 15, 2020, the felony arraignment calendars at Humboldt Superior Court will be called in Courtroom 5 at 1:30 p.m.  If you have received a notice for an arraignment, please appear in person. "

"Masks are required, and social distancing protocols will be followed.  Please do not come to the courthouse unless you have received a notice for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. for a date on or after Monday, June 15, 2020. "

Please check the Court calendar on the Court’s website: https://www.humboldt.courts.ca.gov/ to verify your case is scheduled.  Court calendars are posted on the website after 4 p.m. on the day before scheduled court dates. "
