Michael Acosta says DA's office refused to provide discovery in his case and withheld discovery in the motion to disqualify him as David Anderson's attorney

This morning arraignment was completed for local attorney Michael Acosta. He entered not guilty pleas on all counts. The hearing on the demurrer to Count 1 had to be continued to June 9 because Mr. Acosta had not received a response from the People.

Mr. Acosta just sent me a document he sent to the District Attorney. It is an informal request for materials and information.

I have reached out to DA Maggie Fleming and Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads but it is the weekend.

Further arraignment was scheduled for his co-defendant, Sarah Carroll. This is because she had a new attorney, Mr. Russ Clanton appointed just this morning. The Public Defender's Office declared a conflict.

The DA's motion to disqualify Mr.Acosta was denied by Judge Timothy Canning. Anderson's preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 8 and it will be a lengthy hearing, if it proceeds.
