"It don't matter boss. The probation department had a problem with their phones."

Thanks to the emergency bail schedule, Roy Moran had $0 bail and was released on OR today. Judge Christopher Wilson is very familiar with Moran.

As usual, Moran did not disappoint with theatrics. He played it up for the video appearance. He came in the jail conference room in a wheel chair.

When Judge Wilson asked him if he wanted an attorney appointed on the new case, Moran responded, "It don't matter boss. The probation department had a problem with their phones."

When the charges were read, he pretended he didn't know what month it was, then as the hearing continued, Moran knew the address and acknowledged he was supposed to stay away from that location. He was ranting on record and going off until Deputy Public Defender Jessica Bennett got him to be quiet and called him privately.

Ms. Bennett appeared via Zoom on behalf of her office. Deputy District Attorney Tobias Hasler appeared in court for the People.

Mr. Hasler could not object due to the emergency bail schedule set by the California Chief Justice during the pandemic but he expressed concern that Moran was a danger to the community, could not comply with the laws and had been arrested for violating a court order.
