Criminal proceedings suspended; doubt declared again for Wesley Starritt


OR/bail hearing for convicted felon, battery and prowling suspect Wesley Starritt was scheduled this afternoon. That issue was moot since Deputy Public Defender Jessica Bennett declared doubt per PC 1368.



Criminal proceedings are suspended. Judge Christopher Wilson noted that Starritt has been found incompetent to stand trual before.

Starritt has two 2020 new cases and two 2018 probation cases on calendar.

Bail was set at arraignment at $50,000; $25,000 each in two cases and $0 bail on the VOP cases by a different Judge.

Today, Judge  Wilson changed the $0 bail for two VOP cases to $25,000 in one VOP case and $10,000 in another VOP case.

Preliminary hearing scheduled for June 10 was vacated. Dr. Wilson's report is due June 22.

Deputy District Attorney Tobias Hasler appeared on tbe case for the People.
