On April 1, 2019, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies and Fish and Wildlife Wardens conducted foot patrols of several locations in the Garberville / Redway area known to be occupied by subjects illegally trespassing on private property.

During their patrol, deputies contacted several subjects who were advised that they were trespassing and needed to vacate the property. Subjects contacted were also connected with social services available to them through the County of Humboldt. Additionally, during their patrol, deputies observed several illegal trespass encampments with an abundance of solid waste, illegal water diversions, unpermitted multi-story structures, solid waste in waterways, oil contamination in local waterways from use of generators, in addition to drug paraphernalia and narcotics.

Deputies contacted two subjects with outstanding warrants for their arrest.
