Jane Doe # 1's CAST interview was played for the jurors today at the Chad Smith jury trial. Forensic interviewer Kimberly Schneider who conducted the CAST interview was on the stand.
EPD officers Ben Omey, Jon Omey and Heinrich Soltow testified.
I covered the Smith preliminary hearing on detail. I covered Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2's testimony I am not going to cover the CAST interviews which are hours of basically the same information.
For the jury trial, I am going cover new information in the People's case. When former DA investigator Martin Perrone testifies, I will cover his testimony. After that, my coverage will be the defense case, the closing argiments and the verdict.
Witnesses like Kimberly Schneider will answer questions from attorneys but the testimony also includes what the CAST interview process is like. Dr Anthony Urquiza speaks in general about the Child Abuse Accomodation Syndrome. His testimony is basically the same
and has been covered recently in the Mario Alexander case and the Cory Fisher case.
