JD Grow pleads guilty to lewd act upon a child and manufacture of an assault weapon


Further trial confirmation was scheduled for J.D. Grow this morning. Instead of confirming for trial, Grow pleaded  guilty to Count 1 and Count 2. Counts 3, 4 and 5 were dismissed with a Harvey reservation. This is an open plea.

The prosecutor on the case is Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer. Deputy Public Defender Ben McLaughlin is representing Grow. He said Grow is statutorily eligible for probation. Judge Christopher Wilson said it is up to the discretion of the Court to sentence Grow to probation.

Grow is charged with Count 1 PC 288  (c) 1. Lewd act upon a child.

Counts 2-5 PC 30600 (a) Manufacture/Assault Weapon

Destruction of firearms that were seized rdered. Grow signed a PPR report that he transferred ownership of any other firearms. His cell phone will be returned after certain videos are scrubbed  or destroyed.

Sentencing is on March 7.
