Expired tag leads to arrest of Donald Floyd Howard for possession of marijuana and drugs
Donald Floyd Howard posted bail and is out of custody.

On Jan. 9, 2019, at about 1:30 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the Pine Hill area of Eureka observed a vehicle with expired registration.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near the intersection of Meyers Ave. and Higgins Street, making contact with the vehicle’s two occupants. Upon further investigation, deputies learned that the passenger of the vehicle, 33-year-old Donald Floyd Howard of Eureka, had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Madera County and was currently on probation.
During a search of Howard, deputies located approximately 65 grams of methamphetamine and 16 grams of suspected heroin. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located digital scales and other drug paraphernalia inside a backpack associated with Howard.
Howard was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on his felony warrant for diversion of funds and possession of marijuana, in addition to fresh charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales and possession of a controlled substance.
The second occupant of the vehicle was released at the scene.
