HCSO investigating homicide, victim found on the side of Alderpoint Road



(January3): The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of the homicide on Alderpoint Rd. on Jan. 1, 2018 as 28-year-old Saul Perez Pacheco.



As Sheriff’s Deputies continue their investigation into Pacheco’s death, they are asking for the public’s help to learn more about Pacheco and his connection to Humboldt County.

Pacheco is a Hispanic male adult, 5 foot 4 inches tall and approximately 225 pounds. Pacheco has a tattoo of a cross on his left arm bicep and a tattoo of a grim reaper on his right arm.

"Our detectives are still working to confirm the Alderpoint victim’s identity." No new information to release today.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred early this morning in Southern Humboldt.


Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Jerald Phelps Community Hospital just before 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 for the report of a male gunshot victim.

The victim was found lying on the side of Alderpoint Rd., between Bell Springs Rd. and Alderpoint, by a passerby driving in the area. The passerby transported the victim to the hospital. The victim succumbed to his injuries while en route.

The victim has not been identified. He is described as a dark-complected male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, in his mid-20’s to early 30’s.
