On November 10, 2016, at about 4:17 a.m., officers with the
Eureka Police Department responded to a supermarket on the 600 block of West
Harris Street for the report of a robbery with a firearm with one shot having
been fired by the suspect.
It was reported that the suspect had entered the store
brandishing a firearm and demanded money from a cashier. The suspect then fired one round into the
floor before taking the cash drawer and fleeing on foot.
Officers searched the vicinity and located the cash drawer
near Spring and Russ Streets. An Arcata
Police K9 unit responded and attempted to track the suspect from the cash
drawer, but was unsuccessful. The
suspect remains at large.
The suspect was described as a white male in his 20’s, 6’
4”, thin build, wearing a gray and white hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a
mask. This is an ongoing
investigation. Anyone with information
is asked to call the Eureka Police Department at (707) 441-4044.
