On September 15, former correctional deputy Ricardo Aguirre Perez's jail contraband case was continued by all defense attorneys to 11/9/21. This is the second continuance requested by defense.
Trial confirmation is scheduled for GOP vandalism suspect Michael Valls on September 21. A motion to recuse the Humboldt County District Attorney's office from the case also is scheduled on the same day.

Humboldt Superior Court is chaotic. There are currently two jury trials going on and the usual jammed court calendar with a lot of continuances and as usual, last minute rescheduling and changes.

EPD notified that this boat was filled with garbage and dumped on Hilfiker near Humboldt Bay. EPD’s Community Safety Engagement Team (CSET) is pursuing leads on those responsible. This is being investigated under Fish and Game Code (FGC) 5652 which is a felony.
Convicted felon Kyle Muhaw made the headlines with SWAT having to take him into custody.
Muhaw was finally sentenced on September 9 to 7 years in prison.
