Alleged child molestor's preliminary hearing was rescheduled for September 7. Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian made an oral motion to continue . Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer did not object so motion was granted.
Garcia Avalos admitted sending texts to the 12 year old alleged victim in an interview to law enforcement.
"I would like to caress your hot body" was one text. In another text, he mentions that "he touches her between her legs" and in yet another text that "he wants her hot body."
Court said further investigation is needed regarding modification of discovery order. That will be addressed on 9/21. Preliminary hearing is rescheduled for 10/25. Time estimate is two days.
10/25 Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 1/20/22. Time estimate changed to 4 hours.
