Sabrina Ivon worked in some capacity for Lost Coast Communications. A reference to her was made in a 2014 article and they way it is worded is vague and unclear. Then she worked for Bonten Media, the former owner of KAEF and KRCR which is now owned by Sinclair. Now her attorney is requesting a dismissal. A case management conference is scheduled today.
Based on my experience with local sales executives, especially the ones at Bonten, the dismissal of the lawsuit does not surprise me.
This area just shuffles mediocre and unprofessional employees from one workplace to other whether it is in media, law enforcement or any business. Since there are no details, who knows what the issue is but several Bonten ad representatives were gone when Sinclair took over.
Did Ivon have a legitimate case? Was there a settlement? We will never know the details because these things are hush by most parties and lawyers.
Legitimate cases of administration and injustice rarely see success in corrupt Humboldt.
I reported on the lawsuit in February. Mediation was scheduled in August.
Humboldt Superior Court minutes have very little information on cases, especially civil cases. Nothing has happened for months except rescheduling of case management conferences.
Ivon's Linkedin profile in a google search lists Bonten Media, former owner of KAEF in Eureka as an employer. Who she currently works for could not be verified as her Linkedin profile just displays ABC Fox in Arcata. She has restricted the information displayed on her profile.
In February, I covered the hearing via Zoom.
Ivon sued Sinclair Television of California, LLC, the current owner of KAEF in Eureka and KRCR in Redding. Due to audio, I could barely hear the attorneys' names and none of them were familiar local names. They are now listed in e court records posted below.
