126 years later, EPD still dealing with "rowdies" and drunks

I did a post last January on how Eureka Police Department was formed and the 125 th anniversary. EPD Chief Steve Watson and his department are still dealing with "rowdies" and drunks. They are supposed to enforce the laws just like John Atcheson who was the only town marshall.

Atcheson did not have to deal with the current political climate and laws.

Eureka was founded in May 13, 1850,  incorporated as a town in April 18, 1856 and reincorporated as a city on February 19,1874.

It wasn't until Eureka was rechartered in 1895 that Eureka Police Department was formed. This July is EPD's 125th anniversary.

John Atcheson was the only town marshall. There were four city marshalls. Former chiefs of police include Frank Edwin and William McKay. EPD Chief Steve Watson is Eureka's 19th police chief.

Atcheson was directed to enforce laws against "rowdies" and drunks; enforce laws against the lumber mills and levy fines for piling sawdust on the streets of Eureka and keep all the hogs, pigs and shoats off the streets. Owners of the animals were fined a $1. If the owner did not claim the animal, it was sold at a public auction.

Eureka's "leadership" and "gentry",  include some of the same families who have been "in charge" for generations. They refuse to accept reality about how they got wealthy and shirk responsibility why there are drug addicts and bums. They just want them unseen, disappeared as long as they don't have to put in any effort. They don't fund real change, truth or want any  new blood. I really don't need to state why.

Unfortunately, the other decent generational families and locals who appreciate and want to improve this community have been silenced, worn out, by the constant negative and corrupt small town dynamics.

The darkness behind the Redwood curtain is being exposed in today's global and digital society, one scandal and injustice at a time. EPD texts, Humboldt Superior Court Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis and the Magney case is just the preview of Humboldt's house of cards.
