On Sept. 24, 2021, at about 11:13 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the area of Harris and M Streets, in Eureka, observed a vehicle abruptly veer into the oncoming lane of traffic. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for the violation.
Upon contacting the driver, 30-year-old Jordan Ray Steele, deputies observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle in plain view. Steele was detained and searched incident to arrest. During a search of Steele, deputies located over 8 grams of heroin. During a search of Steele’s vehicle, deputies located items consistent with the sale of controlled substances.
Steele was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales (HS 11351) and possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia (HS 11364(a)).
