Swan Asbury shares changes at Eureka Main Street

We've had some significant changes recently to Eureka Main Street (EMS). With the retirement of Charlotte McDonald, the City of Eureka's Office of Economic Development is now partnering with the EMS Board to serve and staff the EMS District.

This transition has included Amanda Kruschke joining the City's Economic Development team as an Economic Development Coordinator. This team includes Pam Powell, Assistant City Manager and City Clerk, acting as the Executive Director of EMS; Christine Tyson as an Economic Development Coordinator, and myself, Swan Asbury. Amanda's role is wholly dedicated to the District, with the City's full support and team behind her. We hope that this transition will provide better services for the District and increased coordination on how the City serves you.

Increased communication is a goal, and this newsletter is a start to that. We are sending out this introductory newsletter on September 1st and it will be followed by a quarterly newsletter beginning October 1st. In the quarterly newsletters, we will include:
  • Upcoming event details (including street closure information)
  • Marketing campaign information
  • A welcome to new businesses
  • What current programs are available
  • A place for you to recognize and celebrate your staff and milestones
We want the newsletters to be worthwhile, helpful, and build a sense of community. If you have ideas for content, please send them our way.

We've established one phone number and email address for EMS that we all monitor to ensure you have a prompt response. Please feel free to call us at (707) 441-4187 or email us at EurekaMainStreet@ci.eureka.ca.gov

We have a lot of momentum building regarding Economic Development in Eureka, and we look forward to all that we can do together!

Sincerely yours,

Swan R. Asbury
Economic Development Manager, City Administration
