After his preliminary hearing on May 29, criminal threats and domestic violent suspect and convicted felon Kip Branson was held to answer to all charges by Judge Kelly Neel except Count 6. Alleged victim is the mother of his daughter.
Rio Dell Cpl. Crystal Landry, HCSO Sgt. Travis Rogers, DA Investigator Marvin Kirkpatrick testified for the People. Arraignment on information is on 6/12.

7/30/25: 8/4 date vacated. Continued by defense due to outstanding discovery to 8/20 for resetting of jury trial+ defense motion to quash. DA motion to amend also scheduled for 8/20.

8/29/25: Motion to amend granted by Judge Steven Steward. Defense motion to quash + trial setting on 9/30.
9/30/25: Conflict Counsel motion to quash denied. Defense petition for mental health diversion on 10/14. Readiness Conference on 11/5; jury trial on 11/17.
10/14/25: Petition on mental health diversion continued to 10/27 people require contested hearing.
10/27/25: Petition on mental health diversion continued by DA to 11/3 because assigned Deputy DA Candace Myers is ill.
11/3/25: Petition on mental health diversion continued by DA to 11/10 because additional information is is needed and DA did not get full report. Readiness Conference rescheduled to 11/10.
11/10/25: Jury trial on 11/17 confirmed.
11/14/25: Booked into jail.
