Today, Sean Lundy 6:00 p.m. threatened me near 8th and E. When he confronted me, there was no one around for a couple of blocks. This photo is right before I called EPD. He is the one in orange.
I called Eureka Police Department at 6:02. EPD is looking for him now. I just spoke with EPD Officer Jesse Anderson.
The latest threat and this is the threat is always when someone is not around to hear. He told me he was going to kill me and said his ex wife will kill me. And he mentioned my blog coverage. If it was not broad daylight and had some people not been walking or driving, who knows what would have happened.
Last incident was April 2 near 6th and H. In November 2024, I called EPD when he was a housemate. I have documentation with EPD for today's and the November incident. After the 6th and H incident, I had let Deputy DA Rebecca Buckley-Stein know of the second incident. I have already contacted her about today's incident as well as the DA's office.
This is the third time Lundy has threatened me. I know what my legal options are. I certainly am not putting that on the blog for Sean and his Deputy Public Defender to know. Even if I got a restraining order, it is obvious from Lundy's multiple arrests and documentation I have about him that he dgaf.
I have written about this in previous coverage and am not going to go over all those details again. I was contacted by someone mentioning him by name , my coverage who called and emailed me multiple times and I had to block. I don't know if the claim in that email of being related to Lundy is true but I have cell phone numbers and documentation.
Lundy has three cases and last time I checked his case, he was represented by Deputy Public Defender Emery Welton. Lundy has shown disrespect and disregard for the law by getting arrested multiple times for violating court orders, failure to appear in court and ankle monitor has not deterred his behavior. The DA is correct in opposing mental health diversion. It should be denied on 6/9 and trial dates set and any plea deal should include time in custody. The touchy feely soft on crime California approach track record is as dismal as Newsom's high speed rail boondoggle.
6/9/25: In CR2403682 + CR2402909 + CR2403682, Judge Kaleb Cockrum said Lundy is eligible for diversion with conditions. Judge Cockrum told Lundy, "it was a close call." Next court hearing is on 8/8.
When I was checking on Lundy's other cases, I noticed a 2025 case for DU1 filed on 2/26/25; CR2500489.
I have written about Lundy's alcoholism Lundy entered a guilty plea in 3/24/25. Judge Lawrence Killoran did the right thing by denying Lundy mental health diversion in the DUI case. Despite that conviction and Lundy's repeat behavior, Judge Cockrum granted mental diversion to Lundy.
8/8/25: Continued by defense to 8/29; no letter from doctor regarding management plan.
8/29/25: 12/29/25 and 8/31/26 are future review dates for Sean Lundy.
9/17/25: Random drug testing allowed in his family law case.
