William Joseph Farrell booked on a bench warrant for resisting arrest and UST 18 SEC 3583 (e)

William Joseph Farrell was arrested yesterday by HCSO on a bench warrant for PC 148 (a) 1 resisting arrest and UST 18 SEC 3583 (e).

The resisting arrest charge and bench warrant is from a 2024 case where Farrell failed to appear in court on 12/18/24. Arraignment is on 6/17/24. It is the same man who robbed Coast Central Credit Union in 2012.

A search result in Humboldt Superior Court shows 28 results but there are duplicate listings. I have brought this to the attention of Humboldt Superior tech and admin numerous times and was told the vendor needs to fix it so it is up to admin to follow up.

6/17/25: Arraignment in CR2403628  continued to 6/18/25 by court because Farrell refused to come to court; continued again by court to 6/20 because Farrell is sick. Bail in this case is $10,000. He was booked on another charge, possibly another case and there is nothing in system as of 6/20 about that charge. Bail in that case is $40,000.

6/20/25:  Farrell pleaded guilty to Count 1; Retired Judge John Feeney sentenced him to 9 days in jail with credit given for time served.

EPD Press Release (2012):

On 3-20-12, the Eureka Police Department’s POP unit, while conducting drug investigations at the 2200 block of Broadway, arrested William Joseph Farrell. William Joseph Farrell is the suspect in the February 2nd robbery of the Bayshore Mall’s Coast Central Credit Union. The arrest was made without incident and Farrell was booked into the Humboldt County Jail.

It appears Farrell had been back in the area for several weeks.

Farrell is also the suspect in a March 3rd bank robbery in Rockford Illinois. The Chicago based FBI indicted Farrell earlier this week. The federal warrant is expected to be issued on 3-21-12.
