Cesar Valenzuela had two cases on calendar for setting this morning.
One is 2015 misdemeanor domestic case. The other case is a homicide case. Valenzuela is the last defendant from the Manila 5 who has not resolved the case. Victim in the homicide case is Tyson Claros.
Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo is Valenzuela's attorney. Mr. Luke Brownfield appeared via Zoom on the homicide case.
Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor for Manila 5 homicide case. Deputy DA Jane Mackie appeared in court for the People.
Dates were set on a time waived basis. Trial estimate is 4 weeks. Trial confirmation is on August 12; jury trial on August 24.
